National Suicide Prevention Month: a time to raise awareness, support each other, and break the silence around mental health. The statistics on suicide rates are staggering: every 11 minutes, someone in the U.S. dies by suicide. In construction, the risk is even greater, with a suicide rate 2.4 times higher than the national average.
That’s why our union is committed to building a Zero Suicide Industry. Through outreach, education, and life-saving services, we are working to protect our members. But this effort depends on all of us.
Please take a moment to review these signs that a friend, co-worker, or loved one may be struggling:

- Extreme mood swings, anger or rage
- Alcohol or drug abuse
