Despite repeated calls, developers continue to ignore workers’ request for a meeting to discuss labor rights on their project sites and across the industry.
If they won’t come to the table, we’ll bring the table to them!
On the evening of July 18th, developers will gather for the Finance and Commerce “Top Projects Awards”. These awards fail to recognize the labor and workers essential to building these projects, but honor projects by developers like Solhem, Yellow Tree, and Roers, who have refused to address labor conditions in the industry. One project being recognized is The Fred, a Solhem project in Edina, where two separate groups of workers came forward with allegations of wage theft.
This is a chance to remind developers that construction workers build their award-winning projects and that it’s time for developers to meet with workers to ensure safe and dignified working conditions.
We invite you to join our action on July 18th at 4:15 PM in Northeast Minneapolis. RSVP at this link to stay updated on the details of the action.
Parking: Park in the Northeast Ice Arena lot (1306 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413), where we will gather before going over to Quincy Hall for the action.
Let’s stand in solidarity and make our voices heard!
